Itinerary
Your Bhutan adventure begins as you arrive in Paro, where you'll be warmly greeted by our representative. After a smooth transfer to your hotel, you'll have lunch before setting out to explore the historic ruins of Drukgyal Dzong. Built in 1647 by the great Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal, this dzong was once a symbol of Bhutan's victorious past, now left in ruins after a devastating fire. On clear days, enjoy stunning views of Mt. Jhomolhari (7,314 m) from the ramparts. On your way back, visit the ancient Kichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan’s oldest temples, built in 659 A.D. by the Tibetan King Srongsen Gampo. The day concludes with dinner and an overnight stay at your hotel.
Begin your day with a visit to the National Memorial Chorten, built in 1974 in honor of Bhutan's third king, Jigme Dorji Wangchuk. Continue to the Dupthop Lhakhang, one of the few surviving nunneries in Bhutan. The National Library, with its vast collection of ancient Buddhist manuscripts, and the Painting School, where the traditional art of Thangka painting is kept alive, offer insights into Bhutan's rich cultural heritage. After lunch, visit the Traditional Medicine Institute, where ancient healing arts are practiced. The day’s highlights also include a visit to Tashichho Dzong, the seat of Bhutan’s government and monastic body, and the Handicrafts Emporium, where you can shop for souvenirs. Enjoy dinner and your last night in Bhutan at your hotel.
After breakfast, you'll be transferred to Paro Airport for your departure, carrying with you unforgettable memories of Bhutan's rich culture, breathtaking landscapes, and warm hospitality.
